In the Bedford Book of Genres, Chapter 15 informed readers on how to create a multi-genre presentation. This chapter was very helpful, providing examples on how to organize Part 3 of my project. The purpose section of this chapter was useful, as it made me realize that I must connect my project to the community outside of the classroom.
I plan on creating an Instagram account for one of my genres. Next, I'm going to organize the account by creating a logo for the profile picture, and an inspirational bio. Finally, I plan on creating a flyer. This flyer will inform others across the campus to consider joining this particular community. Since my targeted audience is people who either go to the gym or have motivation to go, I will be posting these flyers outside of the Leach as well as locations on the walk towards the leach. After some flyers have been distributed, I will take picture of them hung up and post those pictures on social media. Utilizing social media to distribute information at a large scale is the best way to target a wider range of people.
Using Chapter 15 as a guideline while creating my 3 genres will keep me on track. Utilizing techniques given such as rhetorical appeal will be used to be more relatable to the audience. Overall, this chapter has helped me figure out how to create three genres out of my one topic to spread my intended message.
