Chapter 13 goes into depth on how to properly cite a source. It becomes clear that if a source is cited, but incorrectly, it is considered plagiarism. Throughout middle and high school, I was encouraged to cite my sources, but was never taught a correct way to do so. This chapter was extremely helpful as I've learned a great amount on how to properly cite, as well as information on types of citations such as MLA and APA. For the research project in ENC 2135, I will be using MLA.

This chapter has enlightened me on the importance of a proper citation, as the original writer deserves credit for their work. Without this chapter, I more than likely would have cited sources incorrectly, which is plagiarism. The timing of this chapter was perfect, and I feel much more confident in my ability to cite. The author, Amy Braziller, also mentioned the importance of considering the audience when including a source, as it refines the true purpose of your research.

Overall, this chapter has been extremely helpful as I read it not to long before I began my annotated bibliography. If I ever feel unsure about one of my citations I will definitely utilize this resource.
